Ms. Monika Rutland founded rutland ježek in January 2010, after almost 19 years of practice in White & Case Prague office.

Ms. Rutland has been providing legal services since 1991 especially in the field of commercial law, corporate law, real estate law, construction law, mergers and acquisitions and litigation and arbitration.

During her long practice Ms. Rutland was heading the White & Cases Prague office's Litigation and Arbitration Group and Real Estate Practice Group.

Real Estate, Construction Law
Ms. Rutland has extensive experience with legal and financial aspects of development, financing and operation of all kinds of commercial real estates (shopping malls, office blocks, logistic centers) and development of residential projects in all stages of the projects (preparatory phase, including due diligence, construction phase, operation phase and sale of the project).

Within the standard operation of the projects Ms. Rutland provides legal counseling to the owners of the projects, in particular the real estate funds, including the issues regarding the project management, lease of office buildings and shopping malls.

Significant part of Ms. Rutland's work in the field of real estate law has been devoted to legal counseling in the phase of purchase/sale of real estate projects, including leading of the team carrying out due diligence of the project and preparation of the transaction documents.

Mergers, Acquisitions, Privatization
During the 90's Ms. Rutland has been involved in many prestigious privatization projects carried out in the Czech Republic.

Ms. Rutland has also been during her practice involved in a number of influential acquisitions and sales of companies in the Czech Republic. Her clients comprise particularly of international group of investors in the field of business, car industry, telecommunications and real estate.

Currently, Ms. Rutland provides legal services to numerous Private Equity funds regarding their transactions in the Czech Republic.

Financing
The clients of Ms. Rutland comprise of both Czech and foreign financial institutions, to whom Ms. Rutland provided legal counseling in connection with financing and refinancing of various real estate projects in the Czech Republic, including legal services regarding the export of financing of the development projects.

Litigation
Monika Rutland has been providing legal services to numerous prestigious clients in proceedings before courts and arbitrations, including ICSID and ICC arbitrations. Her clients comprise mostly of prominent Czech banks and investment funds.

Recommendations
In 2007, Ms. Rutland was named by the independent publication Chambers Global as one of the leading lawyers in the Czech Republic in the area of real estate and dispute resolutions.

Ms. Rutland was named among the highly recommended lawyers in the Czech Republic in the area of corporate real estate by the publication PLC Which Lawyer (2008).

In 2008, Ms. Rutland was also named by the publication The Legal 500 as one of the leading lawyers in the Czech Republic in the area of real estate and construction law.
